The online play looks impressive, but without the right games behind it, it's wasted.

Why not?

Tiger Woods' PGA Tour Thingummy looks pretty 3D to me.

And I imagine anything that could run on an old 386 (read: Links 1) could run on a GBA.

I forget why I was arguing. I know that the SNES and the GBA are both not capable of proper 3D. It's something to do with the limitations of the SuperFX Chip.

The GBA could do 3D if it was done through software. Golf sims have shown again and again that (a) People are willing to wait up to an hour for a scene to be wrawn in a golf game, and (b) They shouldn't bother because NES Open Tournament Golf will never be bettered.

Heh, I remember when I got that expansion course for Links. That took an absolute age to redraw. Even good ol' Torrey Pines South took about twenty seconds to redraw.

I was so amazed when Microsoft Golf 2 got the redraw done in a couple of seconds.

Yoshi's Island handles 3D quite well.

I had Links (well, my dad did). IT said in the manual that if you cranked it up to full it might take anywhere up to 20 minutes. Then you play golf for forty five seconds and let it draw again.

I can do 3D on a graphing calculator. Both SNES and GBA are quite capable of simple 3D garphics. In fact, I saw a game on GBA that used a ray casting engine, and the graphics were comparable to the original Doom.
None of my projects (Minus One converter, W3D/W4 Map Viewer, and WMapEditor) are endorsed, supported or otherwise affiliated with Dream17. I just find Dream17 forums to be a nice place to share and discuss my work with others.

No. I don't remember what the game was called, but for GBA it was fairly impressive. I think, it even allowed for deathmatches with several GBAs linked together.

The most imporessive psuedo-3D GBA game I've seen is Payback, which is a port of a fairly recent Amiga game.

Spiderman 2 for the GBA has 3D graphics, but they're not very good.

"Realistic Golf Simulator" :lol:

(EDIT: I'm allowed to say that. I like golf, despite its faults. And I love cricket, despite it having a very similar one - namely, long periods of time between actual bits of action)
